“14 day tour of Iran”

I have just returned from Iran which included a 14 day tour with Uppersia. During this time we visited Shiraz, Persepolis and the Necropolis (tombs of Darius, Xerxes etc), Kerman, Mahan, Rayan, Shahdad (Kaluts in the Lut Desert), the Zeinoddin Caravanseri, Yadz, Isfahan, Kashan and Tehran.

The tour exceeded all my expectations. We were fortunate to secure Seyed Ali Mohammad Hosseini as our guide after a recommendation from a colleague who had participated on a previous trip guided by Ali. The tour consisted of myself, a friend and Ali which made arrangements very flexible. Ali was a great companion and was able to provide detailed insight into both the history and culture of Iran. I considered Ali to be a friend by the conclusion of the tour and can only commend him for his consideration and kindness.

Accommodation was totally satisfactory and at least two of the hotels were better than the four star hotel we booked in Tehran. The stay at the Caravanseri was particularly memorable and a unique experience.

Iran abounds in UNESCO listed sites and the tour included a significant number of these. The city like structures in the Lut desert were remarkable and well worth the long detour from Kerman.

The included meals were excellent as was the opportunity to enjoy the hospitality of an Iranian family. The quality of food experienced throughout the trip was fantastic being nutritious and tasty with lots of fresh vegetables and pulses. I felt really healthy and active on the local diet!

The friendliness of the Iranian people really made the trip. Countless people bid us welcome a we passed in the street and i had many in depth conversations (including one conducted entirely through Google translator on a smart phone). 

All in all, a fantastic trip which gave me far greater understanding of the people of Iran.

I fully recommend Uppersia and our guide Ali if you intend to visit Iran.

Iran Highlights – Tehran, Isfahan, Shiraz & Persepolis

An 8 day Iran Highlights Tour resulted in endless memories of the beautiful country, the welcoming people, the delicious food and the culture and attractions that span thousands of years dating back to ancient civilization. It’s a matter of when, not if, I’ll be returning someday to experience more of what Iran is and has to offer. I booked a customized tour with a local Iranian tour operator Uppersia and it couldn’t have been any better, super fortunate to have a new friend Ali travel with me and show me about his country. Our itinerary had us visiting major cities such as Tehran, Isfahan, Shiraz and a day trip to the ancient city of Persepolis just outside of Shiraz. Highlights of Iran can be found below of the wonderful people, culture, cuisine, history and country.

My tour was just myself and Ali for the 8 days. Ali was an amazing tour guide and our time went by faster than I would’ve liked traveling around Iran as newly minted friends. The people I’ve met have been so amazing and welcoming to their home country and culture. In addition to Ali, I was lucky enough to meet and be shown around by some locals who were family relatives of friends here in the US, a truly authentic experience beyond just the textbook touristy attractions.

Very professional company to make your Iran trip a reality!

I just returned from a customized 8 day tour of Iran visiting Tehran, Isfahan and Shiraz w/Persepolis in my April 2018. It was at the mid level accommodation tier. Their website has a few standard tour templates but they are very open to customizing it exactly how you would like it to be, and at a Very reasonable price.
It was basically a private tour with myself and my tour guide Seyed Ali Mohammad Hosseini, who was from Shiraz.

Before the tour started, Mahnaz, the tour manager did a great job helping me (US Citizen) go through the visa application process since there was quite a bit of paperwork involved for travelers of certain countries. Mahnaz was very responsive to my questions and provided answers that helped me make good decisions. Uppersia is managed very well and they have some great tour guides who are very knowledgeable and will make your trip to Iran unforgettable.

My guide, Ali Hosseini from Shiraz was the best part of my tour. The knowledge he had about each attraction along with some personal anecdotes or other tidbits of information really put things into context and made me understand the site more than just what books would say. This bit of extra context is really what made Ali helpful and standout from other tours I've done in the past in other parts of the world.

Would highly recommend Uppersia to anyone who is interested in visiting Iran and their beautiful country, history, culture, cuisine and warm and welcoming people
